Monthly Mantra Meditation: Virgo/Mercury

Wow! This end of summer breeze is beginning to ground my feet into the earth again.

It no longer feels like such an uphill battle to get all of the little things taken care of, those day to day tasks and to do’s.

In fact, I am feeling a sense of momentum and joy as I dive back into a routine that doesn’t necessarily involve beach trips and star gazing. Are you feeling this too?

Enter the Virgo Sun!

Virgo is an earth sign ruled by the planet Mercury. Traditionally it rules the 6th house of the zodiac, which focuses on service, health and day-to-day “work” routines.

“But isn’t the beach way more pleasurable than work?”

Which is why we tend to go to the beach during the days of the Leo sun beckoning us toward pleasure. Everything that goes up must come down and we too must move forward taking responsible action for our lives and livelihood.

So many of us dread the feeling of “going back to work” or “going back to school.”The key then, to mastering this situation, is MAGIC.

Where can we infuse more magic into our work and routines?

Where can we take the time for ourselves to connect to that higher transcendental realm in between the analyzing and the thinking.

Where can we create mindful rituals in our lives that infuse our worlds with creativity, centeredness and spirit?

Where can we think and receive more magically?

Magical Practices

Here are some possible doorways to walk through in an effort to invite more magic into your life. Remember that this is about nourishment. Take some time for yourself. Nurture your mind, body and spirit. Then go cross your T’s and dot your I’s!

Conscious Breathing

Because Virgo can be so deeply analytical, critical and observant, planets here do require patience, endurance, faith, and above all, the effort to learn from one’s experience.

Earlier this summer we discovered that the mantra for Mercury is connected to the spirit of the Buddha.

We looked at how we could take more of a bodhisattva mindset to help guide our actions around communication for the benefit of others.

Virgo, being the sign of service, calls us to ground down into the practical for the benefit of not just ourselves but also all of humanity.

Om Sri Budhaya Namaha
“Om and salutations to Buddha, presiding spirit of the planet Mercury”

This mantra is used to achieve mental clarity, to avoid and overcome misunderstandings and keep friendly communications flowing.
